From 1949-1951, the years that Conjunto Casino recorded in the Panart studio, the band led by vocalist Roberto Espí was perennially celebrated as group of the year by the Cuban press and the fans that followed them from club to club, hotel to hotel and fiesta to fiesta. In 1950, when television premiered in Cuba, the charismatic Casino became a daily presence in people’s homes. Their popularity could not have been obtained or sustained without the steady stream of singles that were fed to radio, jukeboxes and retailers by Panart.
